Appreciating where you live now
This morning I spent some time thinking about all of the places I have lived. I thought about what I considered to be the positive or the negative of each place and I tried to answer the question of which place I had enjoyed the most. I was unable to decide, each place is so unique in its own way. Even the places I have not been fond of have had some appeal and uniqueness.
It occurred to me that we often spend our time in one place thinking about where we will be next, or we are so busy in our everyday lives that we forget to appreciate the good things that surround us where we are right now.
How many times have we heard people say “I have lived here for so many years yet I have never visited the…..”
I can look back on many of the things I didn’t take the time to do, even though the opportunity was right in front of me.
So here I am in Australia, I have been here for just over a year in this beautiful and vast country that has so much to offer, and yet I have not explored further that a couple of hours away and I have certainly not explored all there is to explore in my surrounding areas. I have fallen in to the classic “I can do that at anytime” mode.
